Great News for our Mountain: Sewanee Trail is done but more to come.

The Mountain Goat Trail Alliance (MGTA) has been awarded a $317,000 grant from the State of Tennessee’s Project Diabetes program to construct a three-mile portion of the trail and to support health initiatives in Grundy County.

Thanks to the Project Diabetes grant, our Go Grundy Campaign to connect Monteagle and Sewanee is one huge step closer to fruition. We are also excited to partner with the Grundy County Health Council on programs for people of all ages to promote healthy behavior, including using the Mountain Goat Trail for regular exercise.

We just had a birth in our family.

We had a birth in our family and I've been taking photographs 3 times a day.
So cute!!!  Peaches is a first time mom and frankly I don't know how she can keep track.
Maybe you can give us some hints upon your arrival.

Butterfly garden at the cottage fence

The Butterfly dance is in full force.  They are everywhere and this
is the year of the bee balm flower.  I have  bee balm flowers planted at the cottage,
in numerous gardens and even at our front porch. It's like an international airport, with take offs
and landings of butterflies and attractive moths.

Next available week-end is August 5th and 6th.  Book now and enjoy
the cooler mountain air and the authenticity of a country summer week-end.

Happy Fourth of July from Red Oak Hollow

It's great to live in America. It's fantastic to live on a
mountain. It's wonderful to live in Sewanee. It's marvelous
to live at Red Oak Hollow. We are grateful.

Happy freedom day to all our friends and guests.
It's a bright colorful day and my newly finished bottle tree
says Fireworks for all!
