Sit a spell and rest some.

Before we bought our land, we had a short list of wants.
Right at the top of list was "a water feature"; stream, pond, lake,
anything larger and more frequent that a puddle.
The hubby and I never discussed why we wanted water, we just knew we did.

There hasn't been a day, when we said, "Heck, what is all the water doing here?"
It's here for a purpose.
Some days, the purpose is solely to sparkle.

Butterflies galore in the gardens of Red Oak Hollow

August is the glory of summer.  The days might be hot, but the
evenings have the cool mountain breeze that brings relief.
Call today and book your week-end, we still have a couple of
August week-ends available with our garden cottage.

Cicada; waking up to the world.

Nature comes in all sizes and as bugs go this is a BIG one.
The cicada just left it's shell and was slowly waking up to the world.
Once captured, it was well on it's way to our fishing pond to lure a
large mouth bass.  Good eating for the bass.

Hike the Domain of the University of the South

Do a little of it or do a lot of it.  For those of us that can, heck
plan it well and make a day of it and do it all.  Hike the Perimeter
Trail of the domain and come back to Red Oak Hollow and have the
best night sleep on our king size sleep number bed.
