Tennessee Music Festival Fans stay at Red Oak Hollow

Do you plan to go to any of the many Tennessee music events this summer?
Did you know that our mountain is located near many of the events.

Red Oak Hollow would be the perfect place to stay for a great night sleep on a king size sleep number bed. Camping out in the mud and heat of Bonnaroo is only for the young; the young of heart could use a little more TLC with the comforts of our cottage.

Bonnaroo begins on June 11th thru the 14th with Billy Joel closing ( (27 miles away)

Riverbend Music Festival in Chattanooga, June 5th thru the 13th  (45 miles away)

CMA Music Festival in Nashville June 11th thru the 14th. (90 miles away)

Or stay on the mountain and enjoy a musical event or two (often free) of the Sewanee Music Festival June 20th thru July 19th. ( ( 7 miles from Red Oak Hollow)

They just walked out of the woods this morning

A brand new young family of Canadian Geese walked out of the marshy area of the woods. We had no idea they were there. The newcomers kept to one side of the pond while our original pair guarded the food supply.  We feed crack corn and it must be pretty tasty.

Yes, we have more babies at Red Oak Hollow

It's so dang crazy just keeping up with the birthdays around here.  First we had seven goslings from our pair of Canadian Geese and sadly they may have only lasted a day.  Then we have a eight little Mallard ducklings that we first sighted on Saturday.  My hubby said he saw the ducklings this morning with out their parents and a few hours later I believe the ducklings were down at the edge of the pond alone.  Oh no, not orphans!. By the time I put on my shoes and grabbed the camera, there were three Canadian Geese at the pond and not ducklings or ducks.  Yikes!  The geese left and I walked the edges of the pond listing for anything, beside jumping frogs and fish.  I couldn't find a sign of them and just an hour later, the ducklings, their parents and the three geese all came back for lunch.
